Spider Season

This is a story nugget that I 1st published over on Substack.

It’s autumn and all the spiders are hanging out in window frames and stretching giant webs between fading plants. Waiting for a last feast before winter sets in. My favourite spiders are the round bodied ‘garden spider’ or ‘Cross Orbweaver’. Some of them can get quite chunky and they have fabulous stripy legs. These are the inspiration for this story nugget. That and Inktober, go and have a look on Insta at the fab pictures .🖤

Pixel spent the autumn days whizzing around the garden on the back of her friend Spinner the spider.

I wonder why they’re going so fast?

Do you see what they’ve spotted? A royal fairy tea party and I don’t think they have an invitation!

Look out!

Here come the guards.

Phew!

Pixel and Spinner are safe, hidden in leaf.

Back at Spinner’s web they’re having a party of their own.

Spinner must have swiped some cake & put it in her pockets . Yes I’m sure spiders have pockets!

🕷️Keep a look out for these characters while you’re out and about this autumn and keep a tight hold on your cake.🍰
